About the Project:
Ever since I was a kid, I've dreamed of making movies. Now, in just 12 months, I’ll be stepping on set to direct my first feature film. This is my life's work. Every single step has led me here. To this moment.
There is a fire within me to make this film, and to make it NOW. One thing I truly realized when my daughter was born, was the fragility of life. We are not guaranteed tomorrow. So I have made it my mission to bring this one, singular vision to life.
Even if it's the only film I get to make, it is my past, my present, my future, all my ambitions on screen. It's about losing a loved one, and finding meaning in the wake of that absence. It's about the fears and joys of parenthood, cycles of life, and the sea. I started writing it the day my daughter was born.
For me, being a director is more than just having a vision, it’s being a leader, being a friend, being a father, it’s taking that vision and putting in everything you have to breathe life into it. This is why I love filmmaking. It encapsulates most every other art form - visuals, music, performance, and through editing: time. Film allows us to express the ineffable - things that words cannot describe. It can reach depths beyond just text on a page, or sounds from a speaker. A film is an amalgamation of hundreds of people’s hearts and souls laid out before you. The team we’ve assembled to helm this project are simply put, the salt of the Earth, most talented, wonderful collaborators. But we’re not done yet. There is still a chance to get involved with this production. Whether you’re a seasoned producer, or a lover of the arts; if you have ever wanted to bring a story to the big screen, this is your moment too.
